KOKOKARA//À PARTIR D'ICI
KOKOKARA // STARTING HERE
Through this piece that draws on mythology and art history, Ikue Nakagawa and Brune Campos trace a genealogy of images produced by humankind since the dawn of time. We are increasingly bombarded with images, which at best offer us food for thought, but more often impose upon us an insidiously authoritarian imaginary regime.
No image production is innocent. They inevitably induce a relationship to what we want to hide or what we refuse, our fragility or our savagery, or everything that escapes the distribution of roles and identities imposed by a society.
KOKOKARA // FROM HERE invites us to question the mythological origin of our representations of women and our relationship to the anthropocentric, violent and unhealthy world.
By going back to the origin of the images, the play plunges us into the primal glimmers of the appearance, and confronts us with a physicality that rejects clichés and escapes the hierarchization of the world of the living in an attempt to unravel the chain of lies and events that have brought humanity to where it is today.
